Knoxville Opera Ball

This major fundraiser of the Knoxville Opera Guild is an annual, elegant black tie affair. The 2016 theme is "The Streamliner Ball," with a "boarding pass" for "luxury train travel." A cocktail hour with silent auction, held at 6:30 p.m., precedes the 8 p.m. gourmet meal by Chef Matt Gallaher, whose gourmet creations are being adapted from original Dining Car recipes. The event also includes wines and spirits and dinner music from the "Streamliners Swing Orchestra" in the Great Hall of the Knoxville Museum of Art. As dinner concludes, a short but spirited live auction is held, along with tributes and a floor show. Dancing continues until midnight. Black tie encouraged.
