Ethel Beck Society Brunch
Saturday, March 28, 2026 • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Ethel Beck Society (EBS), a brunch devoted to honoring the rich heritage and legacy of African American women, was established in 2018 and named in honor of Ethel Benson Beck, namesake of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center. The 2026 event will honor the late Juanita Cannon, a longtime educator and beloved principal and teacher for more than 40 years, as the Ethel Beck Society Woman of the Year. Cannon passed away in March at the age of 86.
Guests are encouraged to gather and fellowship outside the Rotunda at 9:30 a.m. to enjoy pictures and refreshments. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. After guests check in, they are welcome to enjoy drinks, refreshments and music while finding their seats. All guests are asked to be seated by 10 a.m. so that brunch can begin. Attire: Classy with a touch of yellow.
