Beck Cultural Exchange Center Eighth of August Jubilee

The Beck Cultural Exchange Center's annual Eighth of August Jubilee, now in its 12th year, will be a celebration at Covenant Health Park (on Knoxville Giants Night to remember the Knoxville Giants who played in East Knoxville at Booker T. Washington Park in the Negro Leagues when baseball was segregated. The franchise was one of the founding members of the Negro Southern League and its first champions.
VIP tickets are available HERE for $50 for a meet-and-greet with special guests starting at 4 p.m. on the third level at ORNL Federal Credit Union’s Luxury Level Club, live entertainment, food, free drink ticket, limited parking, a Beck keepsake and access to premier seating.
The gates open for at 5:30 p.m. for the public and non-VIP ticketholders with special rate general admission tickets for $15 available HERE.
The Knoxville Smokies will pay homage to the city's rich baseball history by wearing Knoxville Giants uniforms for Friday's game.
This year's celebration will be held a week early on Saturday, Aug. 1 (due to baseball schedule) and will continue to commemorate Tennessee's Emancipation Day on August Eighth. This tradition, observed for more than 150 years, celebrates freedom, perseverance and the enduring contributions of African Americans.
