Black & White: Knoxville in the Jim Crow Era
The East Tennessee Historical Society will host a “virtual visit” exploring the Museum of East Tennessee History’s feature exhibit “Black & White: Knoxville in the Jim Crow Era,” led by East Tennesseee PBS Director of Community Outreach and director of Black in Appalachia William Isom and East Tennessee Historical Society Education and Volunteer Programs Manager Hannah Rexrode. The program will include a “sneak peek” of the exhibition, which includes 66 artifacts highlighting the history or race relations, as well as African American art and the art community in Knoxville following the Civil War.
