The East Tennessee Historical Society will recognize its East Tennessean of the Year, Roy Kramer, a native of Maryville and commissioner of the Southeastern Conference from 1990 to 2002. Kramer, a visionary and dynamic leader in collegiate athletics, will be introduced by U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander. The award honors an East Tennessee history maker who is an ambassador for the region.
