Volunteer Ministry Center’s Carry the Torch Knoxville
Carry the Torch Knoxville is an annual event that features speakers who have an impact on the issues of homelessness, mental health and families. The 2024 event will feature Tracy Kidder, Pulitzer Prize Winner and best-selling author of “Rough Sleepers,” and Dr. Jim O’Connell, president and founding physician of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program and assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Carry the Torch features a mission fair starting at 10 a.m. with agencies that provide housing, general assistance and medical and behavioral health services throughout the community and also are seeking volunteers.
