Dinner with Elston Turner – An Evening to Benefit City Youth
The Dinner with Elston Turner event will celebrate the city's youth and raise support for the Elston Turner Basketball Camp and Clifford H. Ross Scholarship Fund. Elston, a former teammate of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, recently was named an assistant coach with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. He returns to Knoxville each summer to host the week-long basketball camp for elementary, middle and high school youth. Marble City Opera: ShadowLight World Premiere
Marble City Opera will present the world premiere of ShadowLight, which tells the story of celebrated, Knoxville-born, African-American painter Beauford Delaney, who left the segregated South for the freedom of the Harlem Renaissance and Bohemian Paris. Delaney Museum at Beck Groundbreaking

Marble City Opera: I Can’t Breathe
The world premiere of "I Can't Breathe" explores themes of grief, loss, love, identity and hope. Jazz at the Beck
The Jazz at the Beck Summer Jazz Series is a one-of-a-kind music, art and cultural experience featuring live performances from regional and national artists in the intimate setting of the Avon Rollins Exhibit Hall at the Beck Cultural Exchange Center. The event will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine for purchase and access to art on exhibit at the Beck. Beck Cultural Exchange Center Annual Holiday Party
Beck Cultural Exchange Center will hold the Beck Annual Holiday Party for an evening of food, fellowship, entertainment and fun and also wish happy birthday to Ether Jackson, a Beck volunteer turning 102, and commemorate the birthday of the late Beauford Delaney who would have been 121 this year. The annual event on the third Wednesday in December has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic. Registration requested and donations appreciated.

The Ethel Beck Society (EBS), a brunch devoted to honoring the rich heritage and legacy of African American women, will return for the first time since 2019. The event will celebrate and honor, posthumously, 2023 EBS Woman of the Year Paula King Booker. Ethel Beck Society Brunch
The Ethel Beck Society (EBS), a brunch devoted to honoring the rich heritage and legacy of African American women, was established in 2018 and named in honor of Ethel Benson Beck, namesake of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center.
